To have a competitive website, a site must have a good content and better loading speed. The average speed of top ranking websites is ranging from 9 to 13 seconds. If you are serious about making your websites more user-friendly to both users and to Google, you should improve the average page load time of your website. A slow site speed delivers a poor user experience, and websites that provides poor experiences to visitors are less highly ranked by Google. You can test the performance of your website online using Page Speed. The tool performs several tests against your website and then displays suggestions to make your site even faster. Page Speed is available as Firefox Add-On.
To use Page Speed, you must have Firebug Firefox Add-on installed on your Firefox browser. Once Page Speed and Firebug Add-ons are installed, follow these steps:
1. Open Firefox browser.
2. Go to Tools > Firebug > Open Firebug.
3. In the Firebug window, select the Page Speed tab.
4. Navigate to the web page you want to analyze.
