Record Any 3D Windows Application Or Games With Taksi

Your playing your favorite video game and you happened to cracked a difficult stage which you and your friends are trying to solve for several days. You most probably want to share this success so you have to record it. Taksi is a video capture/screen capture tool for recording 3D graphics applications such as games. It can record any windows application using DirectX, OpenGL, or GDI graphics. The output format will be saved as AVI file using any installed VFW codec and for still frames it is in PNG file. To record a game using Taksi, just run this utility and then run the game you want to be recorded.

Taksi will be at the top-left corner of the window. If you see a green rectangle then Taksi was successful from hooking into the game. Once hooked, you can start recording and taking screenshots by invoking predefined keys.

You can configure the default location where the captured video/images will be saved from the config > directory.

Taksi is an opensource software for Windows operating system. I tested it under Windows 7 and Half Life game.
