How To Monitor Network Shared FilesTo share files over network in Windows 7 is easy, just move these files on your Public folder and it will be shared with everyone connected over the network. If you want to monitor which user has accessed your shared files then you can use ShareWatcher or a similar app called ShareMonitor. The latter is a portable lightweight application that allows you to monitor any access activity on your network shared files. When a user remotely opens shared files on your computer, application detects it and displays information such as username, time it was opened, duration, and others.

From the minimalist user interface, you can quickly stop the monitoring, set the check interval, clear the log, or save the log as .CSV or .XML format.
