Registry is the most overused database of Windows. Almost every application that you install and configure stores some registry entries. On other hand, each time you remove an installed app, Windows delete associated registry items. Bad installation and program errors can cause invalid and outdated registry entries that can affect the stability and performance of the Windows operating system. Little Registry Cleaner is one tool that can scan the Registry in Windows and look for invalid and outdated entries with the option to remove them. The app displays a list of sections that it can scan in a left sidebar. Among those sections are program locations, software settings, shared dlls, help files, history lists, application information, startup entries or system drivers.
To start the scan, select the sections you want to be included and hit the "Scan registry" button. The Registry Cleaner will then scan the selected sections in the Windows Registry and display obsolete entries in its interface and in a log file that is automatically opened in the default text editor. You can fix the problems that have been found during the scan by clicking the fix problems button. The app automatically suggests to create a System Restore Point during the first run which is recommended for backup purposes in case there is a problem.
Little Registry Cleaner works on any version of Windows as long as Microsoft .net Framework 3.5 is installed.
