Registry Trick: Disable show hidden and system folders in windows

Due to the recent attack of W32.Downadup on our network, I discovered a trick that these types of worm/virus do to hide themselves being seen even by checking the show hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer > Foder Options. I realized that this trick can also be use for a good purpose such as strengthen application security. A good example is hiding a flat database file from end-users.

The Trick:

1. Open your regedit.exe
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > Advanced > Folder > Hidden > SHOWALL
3. Change the value of CheckedValue to 0 (zero).

And there it is. Good Luck!

3D Image Browsing on your Firefox Browser

When I watched the Matrix starring by Keanu Reeves, i was fascinated with the scene where neo (the one) was presented with several cabinets of weapons in 3D cinematic way. These days that kind of 3D browsing is already popularized by iPhone and i-Tune.

Yesterday, while i'm hunting for new firefox add-ons I stumbled to this cool add-on software which turns your Firefox browser in to full screen 3D Image Browser. You can use this add-on on any supported websites such as Google, picasa and myspace. To give you a quick peek on this software, here are some of the screen shots from my "mila kunis" search from Google images.
