Server and Service Monitoring Using Check Host

Server and Service Monitoring Using Check HostFor webmasters and server administrators, server monitoring is a very important task because they have to make sure that all their web services are running at all times and immediately fix if one of the systems or services fails. Check Host is a free app for Windows that can be used for this purpose. It can monitor a server or the services of a server using either of the two check method: either with a ping or by establishing a socket connection (optionally TCP or UDP) on any port. The app is not just intended for administrators, basically any user who runs a website or server can use this freeware to ensure their websites are working properly.

Check Host can monitor servers and services

To monitor for a server or sevice, simply click the "new program" button and define which host or ip address should be monitored. You can set the check interval and the type of notification you want to receive. All services and servers that are being monitored are displayed in the main interface along with their description, hostname or IP address, method and time the last check was performed. You can pause particular check/s anytime. The app requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0.
