Protect/Lock Windows Folders With MyLockbox

Protect/Lock Windows Folders With MyLockboxLast year on this blog, I shared a opensource software to secure private folders which is pretty useful for Windows XP and previous versions. Today I will share a similar software that I tested with Vista and Windows 7, My LockBox is a free software that can password protect any folder on your computer. The protected folder is hidden from any user and application of your system, including Administrator and System itself. It is impossible to access the locked folder from the local computer and over the network.

During installation, you will be ask for a password, this password will be your key to your locked folder. Make sure to enter a password that you can easily remember.

My LockBox to secure your private folder

After the setup, just open the My LockBox from the Start Menu, then enter your password to open the application's main screen.

- To lock a folder, enter the folder location (if you haven't selected it during the installation) then click "Lock" button to start the protection.
- To unlock the locked folder, open the application and simply click the "Unlock" button.
