gFTP - free FTP software for Linux

Gftp - free FTP software for LinuxLast night, we just finished setting up our Linux Server for our Auto Gate project. Now we need to transfer huge files from a remote FTP server so I started testing a worth-to-mention free FTP tool for Linux called gFTP via ghacks. It has a simple GUI interface that makes file transfer on linux easy as it can be. gFTP is a free/open source multithreaded FTP client. It is most used on Unix-like systems, such as Linux and Mac OS X. It includes both a GUI (which utilizes the GTK+) and a command-line interface. gFTP is released under the terms of the GPL and has been translated into 41 languages. The software requires GTK+ 1.2.3 or higher

Aside from file transfer, gFTP can also perform file management tasks on the local and remote systems, including creating new directories, changing permissions (chmod), changing directories, renaming files and directories, and viewing and editing files.

It also supports protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, SSH (Secure Shell), and FSP (File Service Protocol).

Download gFTP via gFTP official website.
