Today, the search giant added "Businesses" layer to Google Earth on iPhone (and Desktop). By default the new layer is enabled when you start the application. Through the new layer you can find overlays of local businesses on top of the usual satellite imagery like restaurants, bars, banks, gas stations, and grocery stores all just a touch away. By clicking on the icons, you'll get additional information like the telephone number, reviews, hours, links to get directions, and much more. And don't forget, as you zoom in further, more businesses become visible. On iPhone, you can even click on the business phone number to call them. This new layer feature was announced during the Google I/O conference.
